Technology Training for Overseas Educators.
The Jefferson/Overseas Schools Technology Institute (JOSTI) is a one week technology training experience for selected overseas educators. This Institute offers training in three strands. Each strand is designed to reinforce specific concepts and ideas and to present information, skills, and applications. Participants will preselect one of the following three strands: World Virtual Schools, Instructional and Technical. The JOSTI 2008 conference marks the fourteenth anniversary of the first educational technology conference offered at TJ in cooperation with the Overseas Office of the United States State Department.
JOSTI is an opportunity for overseas educators to increase their awareness, understanding, and use of technology for instruction, library/media centers, inservice and administration in overseas schools. Directors, principals, library/media specialists, curriculum and computer coordinators, and classroom teachers who wish to learn or increase technology information, skills, and applications are invited to apply.
A/OS member schools are invited to send one or more participants. Technology training will be limited to 75 participants. One participant per school will be given first priority in registering; others will be enrolled on a space-available basis
JOSTI is sponsored by the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Fairfax, Virginia, in collaboration with the Office of Overseas Schools.
