Audience:

This is a one week technology training experience for American Overseas Schools staff interested in an intensive exposure to computer and networking resources. This strand will be open to 25 A/OS participants and is intended for technology coordinators and other staff responsible for network administration. Staff members from Fairfax County high schools also will be invited for the first time to be JOSTI participatants.

Content:

Client/Server issues in an heterogeneous environment that includes DOS, Win95/98/NT. Windows 2000, Macintosh, and Unix/Linux

Infrastructure planning and design as it relates to Layers 1, 2 and 3 of the OSI model including topics such as wiring, hubs, segmentation, routers, etc.

Infrastructure management using HP OpenView/ Spectrum Optivity

Topics surrounding the management of network services such as accounts, printing, utilities, application delivery and more!

Internet/Intranet/Extranet issues including email, security, SSL Authentication, filtering etc.
