Lodging: Lodging will be at the Chesapeake Residence Halls at George Mason University, 4400 University Drive, Fairfax, Virginia 22030. Phone 703-993-1000. The Conference will pay for your lodging from Sunday night through Thursday night. If you need to arrive earlier than June 21st, or stay after June 25th due to flight arrangements, you will be responsible for the payment of additional nights in advance at a very reasonable rate of forty dollars per night. You will also be responsible for your own meals on these extra days. Please email Barbara Dent as soon as possible if you would like to arrange for additional nights. Payments for additional nights must be sent to Barbara no later than June 5, 2009. Please make checks out to TJHSST. If you have friends or family that are traveling with you but not attending the conference, we are not able to provide accommodations at the University. However, there is alternate housing available in the area. If you are not planning on staying at the designated housing, please let Barbara Dent know by May 29, 2009. The rooms have towels and linens. They are not equipped with a telephone. A limited amount of phones will be at the front desk for temporary checkout to be used in the lounge areas (not in individual rooms). If you would like an Internet connection in your room there will be an additional twenty-five dollar charge, payable at the conference. You will need to bring your own ethernet cable for connecting to the Internet in your room. There will be free connections to the internet Monday through Friday at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. Among some items you may want to consider bringing with you as they will not be provided in the rooms:
Note that George Mason University's Residence Halls and TJHSST are air-conditioned so you may want to bring along a light sweater or jacket to wear indoors. There are free laundry facilities in the residence halls. Last Modified Tuesday, February 17, 2009 |
