A lot. Prepare and plan accordingly. All TJ courses are taught at the honors/advanced levels. Also, the work load for summer courses is the same for TJ courses offered during the school year.

What is the attendance policy for TJ Summer School?

Daily attendance is required for TJ Summer School, and strict attendance is taken multiple times daily. All classes are taught at the honors/advanced level and therefore absence for even part of a day can be amount to a significant loss of instructional information. Officially, "not a minute over two complete days" is allowed, but any time missed is highly discouraged.

There are Standards of Learning tests in Geometry, Chemistry and World History/Geography I. These tests are scheduled for August 5-7. Specific dates and times will be announced during summer school.

Students who are new to TJ or who are new to FCPS will not be able to take the SOL tests at the end of the summer. Students falling into this category will be scheduled for the SOL tests in the fall of 2008 or in January of 2009. (New information: April 28, 2008).
